![]() ![]() * Auto-Crossfade mode to automatically crossfade/crossdissolve clips when overlapping and preserve the crossfades/transitions when moving clips instead of deleting them. ![]() * Layered Video Editing and View Video Layer Tracks Resolve already has this for audio, do the same thing for video too! Totally agree! I was really hoping this major update would include improvements for the Edit page and I it's disappointing to see that it was neglected almost entirely. But when my students push it and edit big projects with it, eight hours a day, that's when they tell me it gets uncomfortable. All my students love it, and there is a general consensus of how great it is. I've been using it and teaching it for years. My conclusion: they are only interested in pushing and developing the new and shiny things, and not the needs of the editors.Īgain: I love DaVinci Resolve. And here´s the disturbing thing: I can hide tracks in Fairlight, but not in Edit. In Media Composer I can even hide tracks that I don't want to display in my Timeline. As a result, in Resolve I have to be changing timeline layouts all the time. They need to understand this: Resolve is the only major editor that is not capable of this. Example: one for big video and small audio. ![]() So, the ability to save Timeline View Options as presets is very important. In my edits, I frequently have a high number of video and audio tracks. Here's a very clear example of what is needed. I think they don't know what to do with both the Cut and the Edit pages, and were to take them in the future.Īnd they need to understand that a lot of us spend most of the time in the Edit page. Things like the scrolling timeline or the trimming interface with frame counters should be taken to the Edit page. That was two years ago, and it did not happen. It is a fact that the Edit page is underdeveloped.Īlso: we were told two years ago, in one of the presentations, that we would see features from the Cut page come to the Edit page and vice versa. Nothing that makes my editing life easier in my 8 hours a day of work.Īlso, no addressing of the known bugs and inconsistencies. So, no improvement of the editing tools in the last two big versions. Yes, proxies were included, but that is a workflow thing, not the editing tools. Version 17 also didn't improve anything in the Edit page. Marc, the things I am talking about have been discussed here and in the feature request section extensively. ![]()
